Salt Lake Center for Engaging Community
Pursuing an Integral Approach to Community Flourishing

The Salt Lake Center for Engaging Community (SLCEC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting community flourishing in a global environment through convening, modeling, educating, mentoring, and research. We are primarily a resource to communities in the Salt Lake Valley but offer services to other communities in Utah, the nation, and the world.

SLCEC takes account of the intimate interrelationships among the well being of the individual, the community, and the environment; as well as the interrelated developmental aspects of individual and civic growth and flourishing. We utilize and integrate best practices from many disciplines and approaches to community building. We are committed to an "integral" approach to community integration, transformation, and flourishing.

Specific Areas of Engagement

• Fostering wide spread engagement in community
• Being an independent, politically neutral convening resource of the diversity of a community for the public good including but not limited to conflict resolution, visioning, strategic planning, public policy development, and connecting the community to itself
• Exploring and modeling best practices of integral community flourishing
• Promoting character, civic and learning K-16 and assisting the adult community to model what we are teaching our children
• Developing local / global community networks and communities of learning and practice for communities of place
• Assisting communities to establish their own "center for engaging community"
